Ferol attends LIBTECH conference on digital scholarship in Shangrila

Last July, the seminar on digital scholarship that was held in EDSA Shangri-La Hotel, Ortigas Center, Mandulyong City set the bars and awareness for the libraries as to how this generation of information specialists will face the demand and advances of the world’s minds, information and technology. Our key resource persons for this seminar gave and talked about ways of using technology as tool for today’s trends which refers to the kind of digital scholarship that we use in libraries.
The first speaker, Ms. Gulcin Cribb talked about Research and Scholarship Evolving Roles for Librarians.
Second speaker, Mr, Lee Chu Keong tackled Should Librarians learn to code?
Lastly, Mr. Woei Fuh Wong talked on Open Science: The Combined Effects of Research Visibility and Digital Integrity.
The seminar was highlighted with one of the remarks of Mr. Lee Chu Keong JUST DO IT! We should face and deal with this head held high for the library is the center and pillar of learning and information without IF’s and BUT’s, and together with our partners that help us through and through, we can continue to lead and guide our patrons as the world changes and continue to grow, so are we to continue to grow and innovate as this world demands.
